Bunny Ears

Remember when you were a kid...??

Did you ever give someone "bunny ears"??

It sounds so scandalous...

But it was just silliness.

Truly, plain and simple nonsense...
In the town where I grew up...

Our version went like this:

In our elementary school...

when you gave someone
"bunny ears"
you held two fingers
behind the other kiddo's head and counted...

(silently if possible to avoid detection)
Shhhh...

Usually the giggling of the bunny ear holder
OR the snickering
of nearby kids watching
 ended the game quickly...

Whatever number the bunny ear-giver counted to,
was the number of
 boyfriends or girlfriends
you were going to have... (Gasp...)

Such silliness...
but so too were "The Cooties"...
and "Stepping on Cracks"...and "Truth or Dare"
and all the other foolishness that
filled in the space between spelling lessons
and recess during so many schooldays... (mine anyway)

So...As a former giver of "bunny ears"...
(so proud...what a talent, all these years later...)
and not as a sign of a misspent youth...
I'm at it again....

But in a much more grown-up...
and classy, Easter-ish sort of way.

Be My Valentine ~ Berry Tart

I don't know about you...
but sometimes I feel like
simple is better.

I know...
Does that sound like a shocker??
Coming from a chronic holiday
over-doer...like me??

When it comes to Valentine's Day,
all that is sweet and sentimental...
about such a love-filled day...
I think I prefer simple.  I really do.

Valentines that are
short and sweet...but also thoughtful....
are winners in my book.

Here's a thought:
Valentines don't have to be expensive
or traditional or red...
...they just have to be
thoughtful.

Nothing too over-the-top...

Because after all,
 it's the thought that counts.

The Banana Bread is Safe!!

Did you get the email??

The email like the one I received??
The email from Pinterest...
About my banana bread??

I was heartbroken...literally...
when my bleary morning eyes peeped
the notice from Pinterest...

"Stay calm"...
(That's what I was telling little ol' me)
I was saying "stay calm" in my best "brave mom voice"
you know the one... the reassuring tone...
-note to self...it doesn't always sound so convincing...

To my readers, please know...It's a mistake...
Pinterest has mistakenly removed my original pin
and with a little luck we will have everything resolved...very soon.
(I'm hoping "soon" is the case) ...insert reassuring "mom voice"

About why this would even happen:
